A short introduction from a wind dragon

Dreki 🌐
Post type: Text

Hello everyone! My name is Dreki, and I'm a 26 winters old dragon currently residing in Germany.
I've been part of the otherkin community for several years now and identify specifically as a wind dragon. My draconity is a big part of who I am, although I'll save the story of how I came to understand and identify as a dragon for a separate post.

Outside of my otherkin identity, I'm a nurse. Caring for others is something that's always been very important to me. I'm generally a rather quiet and shy dragon at first, but I love getting to know others once I get comfortable with them.

Over the past few years, I've become involved in building communities for alterhumans. I'm one of the beings behind Eurokin, a European alterhuman community I created some time ago, and I've helped create and manage several other online spaces where alterhumans can share and talk about their experiences. I've also had the opportunity to meet fellow dragons in person dragon through Gathers hosted by Dragonkin.EU, which has been one of the most rewarding parts of being involved in the community.

If you would like to find me elsewhere, I'm mostly active on Discord on the servers mentioned above. I also have a personal website and a blog on Tumblr.

I'm looking forward to reading all the writings posted here and seeing what this little community is like, as I've never been active on a forum before ^^'

See you around! Aru!

Krin 🌐
Post type: Text

Howdy!
I am Krin (he/him/his). I am 20 yrs old and have been awakened / in the therian community since late 2019. I have had my ups and downs in discovering myself since I first joined, but it has been a marvelous time getting to know who I am in my roots.

I am currently in my second year university, studying electrical engineering as a transfer student from preforming arts. I have been a cellist for over 9 years. and an artist for over 10.

I am alternative, neurodivergent, and queer. I love to participate in up-cycling and alt fashion.. though I usually opt for comfort. I am covered in tattoos and piercings. All of which I love.

I am an animal nerd at heart and am passionate about keeping the world clean and safe for ALL, not just humans.

My two identities are woolly mammoth and diamondback rattlesnake. I have a feeling I have at least one other theriotype but have yet to give myself time to explore or question it.

I moved here from instagram at a hope of a different pace and to meet new alter humans. I needed a more relaxed blogging site as instagram felt too cluttered and popularity based rather than individual experiences and just enjoying the community we have.

I am looking forward to meeting people! feel

What's Changed? Acapella Version

Jarin of The Dreaming Tree 🌐
Post type: Audio

This song was based on original lyrics, written by me in April 2011: https://www.otherkin.net/posts/whats-changed/

This version was performed acapella by me, to the melody that I originally imagined when writing it.  Yes, that's my actual voice, and sorry for the background noise of the air conditioner and the mechanical keyboard.

I don't love this version, I prefer the previously posted version set to music and performed by an AI, Suno.  However, I will admit that part of my reaction there is feeling something along the lines of dysphoria when I hear my own voice recorded.  I have a fairly decent singing voice, but I much prefer to share it in live in-person contexts.  Bardic circle around a campfire, for example.  Maybe sometime I'll see you there.

This song was based on original lyrics, written by me in April 2011: https://www.otherkin.net/posts/whats-changed/

However, it was set to music and performed by an AI, Suno.  This allowed me to share it in a format that I simply wouldn't have been able to otherwise, and personally I think this is the best version of the song, and came out remarkably consistent with my original vision for it.  However, I will also be posting an acapella version in my own voice, with the melody as I had originally imagined it when writing the song.  You can find that here: https://www.otherkin.net/posts/whats-changed-acapella-version-de497393/

It has been quite some time since I last engaged in writing of this sort. I find myself out of practice, and unsure of what I want to say.

My name is Alaereth Seriasin. I am currently incarnated on a world known to my people as Yyl'Nector.

As Earth reckons time, it has been over a decade since I was last able to make consistent, reliable contact with my host, Jarin. From my own subjective experience, it has been closer to a year, perhaps a year and a half.

Blue 🌐

Hello! My name is Stuart, or Blue, whichever is easier. I am a fallen angel and also 2D from Gorillaz. I also happen to be a system. I discovered my otherkinity (is that a word) back in 2018 during a meditation session. I saw an image of an eye opening and then a bunch of 2D memories. How did you find out about it? I'd love to hear. Also, any other angels here?

New and a bit lost

So, I hope I'm doing this right. But I'm a newbie here that identifies as a Faerykin.
I started to have a hunch as to my potential when I was around 12 or 13. I can't exactly remember the day or time of my "awakening". Around that time though I began to see things in nature more intuitively. I would always say that I viewed the world through the artist's eye because of how I would appreciate the very fine details in nature that others take for granted or just don't plain care to see. Every vein on a leaf, every speckle of shine on a rock, the character of each twig and how they bend. I felt a sense of magic and wonder in the breezy air.
Ever since I was a kid I wish I could fly through the sky, and would love staring up at the clouds letting them carry my thoughts with them. And because of my deep intuition of the earth, I do my best to care for the environment. I love fantasy and often wish I could escape from the human world to be carefree and enjoy life. Dragonflies were another indicator for me. Ever since I was little I liked dragonflies (and about two years ago I realized they were my totem animal/totem guide/spirit animal (whatever you want to call it). I've had various of animals that I liked growing up, but dragonflies recently came back into my life. And I read that in some folktales that dragonflies are faery steeds or that if you followed a dragonfly it would lead you to faeries. And a few times there would be dragonflies that would zip right at me or over my head. Which I found to be quite fascinating and peculiar.
When I was around 14 I realized that my shoulder blades were more sensitive than the rest of me, which only strengthened my inner intuition of my self being more than human. So I think that may have been the final switch that got turned on and discover that my spirit is of faerykind.
When I first met my boyfriend of 9 years now, I was worried that my conjecture may scare him off, make him think I'm crazy. But thankfully he wasn't, and he even accepted that part of me even going as far as brushing my shoulder blades in affection or whenever I feel the change in season approaching or gush about nature he would chuckle and say "That's my faery girl." But now that I've come to terms with who I am, there are still some things I want to learn. Like, do faeries have certain elemental affinities? Though I talk about the earth and nature a lot I find that it's water and air more specifically that I'm drawn to. And do faeries really have wings or are they more like projections of energy/aura? How would I be able to tell what mine look like? Since dragonflies have always been fascinating to me I always pictured having a set of wings like theirs.

In our communities, as otherkin and therians and vampires, much of our interaction takes place online. To the point that the vampire community has even coined the phrase OVC, or, "Online Vampire Community" to refer to that portion of things.

This document, however, is about taking our community off the screen and into the real world. It is, simply put, a guide to meetups, mini-gathers, gatherings, howls, and conventions. It is intended to cover the questions of how-to, how-not-to, and what these events are like for both the person or people organizing them and those simply attending.
