Terms of Use
Draft v1.0 — July 2026
By creating an account or using Otherkin.net, you agree to these terms. We've kept them as plain as we can. If anything here is unclear, send us a message and we'll explain.
Who can use Otherkin.net
You must be at least 13 years old to use Otherkin.net.
Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
One body, one account — unless we agree otherwise. Those with headmates are requested to create a single account for their system, and to enter their system members under that account.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your password safe and don't share it.
Let us know right away if you think someone else is using your account.
You can close your account at any time from your settings.
Your content
You own what you make. Posting on Otherkin.net doesn't hand your content over to us.
You let us host and show it. To run the site, you give us permission to store, display, and share your content with the audience you choose. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account — except for copies others have already saved or shared, and copies kept briefly in backups.
You're responsible for what you post. Only share content you have the right to share, and keep it within these terms and our Community Guidelines.
The ground rules
To keep Otherkin.net a place worth being, you agree not to:
break the law, or help others break it;
harass, threaten, bully, or target other people with hate;
post content that isn't allowed under our Community Guidelines;
pretend to be someone you're not, or misrepresent your connection to a person or group;
spam, scam, or post deliberately misleading content;
try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or to other accounts;
gather other members' information without their consent.
Moderation
We want to be fair, and we also need to keep people safe. We may remove content or limit, suspend, or close accounts that break these terms or our guidelines. When we reasonably can, we'll tell you why — but sometimes we may need to act first, especially when someone could be harmed.
What belongs to us
The Otherkin.net name, look and feel, and the software behind it belong to us (or to the people we license them from). Please don't reuse them without permission. This is about our branding and code — your content stays yours.
Other sites we link to
Otherkin.net sometimes links to sites and content we don't control. We're not responsible for them, and a link isn't an endorsement.
The site is provided "as is"
We work hard to keep Otherkin.net running well, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or perfectly secure. As far as the law allows, the site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties.
Limits on responsibility
As far as the law allows, Otherkin.net and the people who run it aren't liable for indirect or unexpected losses that come from using the site. Nothing here takes away rights you have that the law says can't be taken away.
Ending things
You can stop using Otherkin.net and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. A few parts — like permissions you've already granted for shared content, and the sections above about responsibility — continue to apply after your account ends.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When the changes matter, we'll update the version shown on this page, and for important updates we may ask you to review and agree again before you continue. If you don't agree to the new terms, you can close your account.
