Isn't Allara the Star Goddess/Mother Goddess/Creatrix of the Elenari? There was one Dancing the Endless Dream or Summer Gateways or something I remember when Syleniel had some mayhaw jelly (?) tarts, or something like that, that she said she had put the energy of this goddess into (and I remember some of us quite liking them and some not so much, myself included ;) ), and I think the name was Allara. If Dan sees this, maybe he can help my memory of what event it was.
The whole "walk down a staircase until you see a door" thing is a very common visioning for entering the Underworld, which (I suppose I don't have to specify to you, Liryen, but am saying for completeness) is a place to find personal and ancestral memory. On the other hand, it is proper to be skeptical of results of such inductions, because as you allude to, it's quite possible for the brain to simply make something up. On the gripping hand, one should take care not to squash blossoming long-shining-rememberings because they don't immediately stand up to scrutiny. On the balancing limb, one does hope they eventually all hang together!
I think I possibly lived as a unicorn once, but it's not something I call a kintype now. Sometimes it's an energy that comes forward or that I can access. Maybe in the current parlance I could be "unicorn-hearted", although I don't think that's how the -hearted terminology is usually meant to be used. It's kind of funny how the "aspects" language has fallen out of use.

I\'m not sure it was ever \"active\" in a sense of these kind of journal-site or Facebook-like status-updatey things. That\'s a feature that came with this Wordpress backend (vs. Malcolm\'s old homegrown setup) that I personally find slightly strange. 15 years ago the directory used to be a great help for webweaving, but other than that I thought of OKN as a resource site with the personal communication taking place mostly elsewhere -- although that other half of the equation is pretty much a void now that there are no active lists and few or no active boards (other than a couple predominantly for therians, which while I understand some kinds of otherkin may find that fine, seems not really suited for folk in the elven-faery area, or angels, nature spirits, all that kind of stuff). But as far as posting articles, which is where OKN used to be fairly active, it just seems none of us oldtimers have anything new to say anymore (some of us are not even alive anymore to say it), and the newer crops don\'t seem to engage with this whole phenomenon in the same way. Sooo. yeah.

Mmm, okay, fair enough. Personally I don't often get it much in the sense of "okay, I will do this normal thing ... ohhh yeah no wait I can't" but I guess by now I'm pretty used to what "normal things" I can't actually do, so I rarely "try" in the first place.
