[1] What were your childhood experiences?
I am aware that not all alterhumans were born with their identity, so this question is targeted to those who noticed traits of them being nonhuman during childhood. Here's a part of my story:
I have no idea wether this is an common case or not, but since early childhood [I would say, like, 5 years old??] I exactly knew about my identity, What's interesting I didn't 'consume' any alien media, I just knew about the existence of space and other planets. My experience back then wasn't enjoyable at all. I wasn't 'role-playing' much, I was crying, praying, and straight up begging my parents to acknowledge my identity. On the other hand, to make myself feel better somehow, I made up, drawn or written stories with my "adventures'. Mostly, those were me with a bunch of other aliens going on a mission to discover Earth. I made fake magazines showing how alien amusement parks looked like, or ads from alien supermarkets. It's funny how this "supermarkets" were extremely cheap, which shows that my species has different morals leading to different prices. I've done these kind of thing my whole childhood.
A sad thing is, these stories and magazines never came true.

I knew I had wings since young age (and stressed my parents out by trying to climb furniture to fly) but didn't necessarily see myself othered from humans until high school when people started to more outwardly steer away from my preferences, rather than the other way around. We were all weird kids in my social bubble, but I was the only one uncomfortable with having to 'grow up' both physically and lifestyle wise. Why are they involving me in this human nonsense!
I've always felt a sort of kinship with felines, as a cub I would carry my plushies by the scruff with my teeth, keep my hair very long like a mane (which i still do today), climb furniture, bare my teeth when upset/excited, bite things and people, the list goes on... I also vividly remember feeling my phantom ears on the side of my head even back then, and this remains my most common shift today. I was later forced to "give up" or hide some of these behaviours when school began, but even then I think most people could figure out there was something not quite right with me. Whether that was the autism/adhd or the poorly masked animal behaviour, I'll probably never know. When I awakened around 2022 I immediately figured I was a big cat as I've felt like one my whole life, but something didnt quite click. Later on I realised i was something a lot more out there, still feline but more like a cryptid? And here i am today. While I was heavily bullied for well, whatever reasons bullies could find, I dont hold any sort of hard feelings towards humans and I'm rather happy to be around them.
I could only engage with media and with myself if I was nonhuman. There are very few drawings as me [as a human], only animals that are meant to represent me. Explorations of my life if I was something other.
For reasons due to trauma, I never drew a family portrait or depictions of a home. I would break down due to the stress of it. I'm not surprised this eventually turned into me adopting an alien identity!
A lot of this was signs of deep dissociation from me, not necessarily nonhumanity. But it was that stress and dissociation that's led me to this identity, so I'm counting it for this question!
