Changes

It has been quite a long while since I last participated in anything even remotely relating to the otherkin community. I had started, more or less, in 2005. After quite a few many years, I opted out for a time.

It is beginning to sink in to me how much the landscape has changed.

One thing that hasn't changed, however, are my beliefs in who I am, what I am and/or who I believe myself to be. If anything, over the years, it has sharpened into a deeper, more high definition sort of clarity.

This goes to show that, at least for some of us anyway, we don't always stop being who and what we are just because we've walked away from the community. Or away from an audience. I was never fond of the stage or the spotlight anyway.

I had my reasons for walking away, much of which involved leaving an abusive relationship and working in a very stressful and demanding job, plus other things that aren't anyone's damn business. Many years and many shifts, none of which have anything to do with being otherkin, but here I am. This is a classic case of, "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

I am hopeful I will not regret this decision down the road.
