@Lash Can I ask why it is you change your profile pic multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times in 24 hours? The activity feed for OKN is full of tons of notifications of you doing that.

@otherkinnet Since there is no \"flag user\" function anymore, and I haven\'t seen a similar one for reporting individual items, what is the best way to bring obvious spam accounts like https://www.otherkin.net/members/hzr414ch/ to your attention?

I\'ve been away from otherkin.net for a few years. Life happens *shrug*

I am no longer taking students, but I\'m willing to talk to people and try to answer questions.

I\'m also still involved in the Texas otherkin scene in general, and the North Houston Otherkin meetup group in particular, if you would rather talk in person.

May you find what you need,
Dan

Online gathering of Elves, Fae, and adjacent Folk... Would you attend?

This past August, some therians and otherkin from Tumblr organized a free virtual convention called Othercon. It went off well, proving such a thing can be done, so my husband and I plus a couple of elven-faery friends wondered: could we do a similar online gather that was specifically intended for Elves-Sidhe-Tuatha-Fae?

We are still in the very early planning stages, at this point just seeing if there is enough interest to make it work. If you are of one of those folk, take our survey at https://forms.gle/iYADL7bKrpwoZ8z88 ! It will remain open through October 27.

Feel free to send this link directly to friends or to share it in locked posts or private groups, but please check with me before posting it anywhere public.

(To answer one likely question up front, we do not intend to bar entry to anyone who is not Elf, Sidhe, etc., solely based on what they are. We are just trying to keep the scope of panels and activities fairly narrow.)

Wondering if there are others like me. I feel as though I don\'t fit in with other humans and find them extremely annoying most of the time. I find I have a hard time wrapping my head around alot of the things they do.

What's Changed? Acapella Version

Jarin of The Dreaming Tree 🌐
Post type: Audio

This song was based on original lyrics, written by me in April 2011: https://www.otherkin.net/posts/whats-changed/

This version was performed acapella by me, to the melody that I originally imagined when writing it.  Yes, that's my actual voice, and sorry for the background noise of the air conditioner and the mechanical keyboard.

I don't love this version, I prefer the previously posted version set to music and performed by an AI, Suno.  However, I will admit that part of my reaction there is feeling something along the lines of dysphoria when I hear my own voice recorded.  I have a fairly decent singing voice, but I much prefer to share it in live in-person contexts.  Bardic circle around a campfire, for example.  Maybe sometime I'll see you there.

Greetings and Faelicitations

It has been quite some time since I last engaged in writing of this sort. I find myself out of practice, and unsure of what I want to say.

My name is Alaereth Seriasin. I am currently incarnated on a world known to my people as Yyl'Nector.

As Earth reckons time, it has been over a decade since I was last able to make consistent, reliable contact with my host, Jarin. From my own subjective experience, it has been closer to a year, perhaps a year and a half.

However, it was set to music and performed by an AI, Suno.  This allowed me to share it in a format that I simply wouldn't have been able to otherwise, and personally I think this is the best version of the song, and came out remarkably consistent with my original vision for it.  However, I will also be posting an acapella version in my own voice, with the melody as I had originally imagined it when writing the song.  You can find that here: https://www.otherkin.net/posts/whats-changed-acapella-version-de497393/

Midnight Dance

As daylight fades, the sky ignites,
A canvas brushed with amber light,
The dragoness perches, proud and tall,
Upon the craggy heights, she hears the call.

The world below, in shadows cast,
Embraces silence, the day now past,
With every hue, the sun’s farewell,
She feels the magic, a timeless spell.

Her obsidian scales, like stars aglow,
Shimmer softly in the evening’s flow,
Each breath a whisper, each pulse a song,
In this tranquil hour, she knows she belongs.

The moons begin their delicate rise,
Twin orbs of silver in the deepening skies,
They beckon her forth, a celestial guide,
To soar through the twilight, where dreams reside.

With a graceful leap from her rocky throne,
She spreads her vast wings, embracing the unknown,
The currents await, like a lover’s sigh,
As she glides from the summit, toward the evening sky.

With each powerful stroke, she finds her release,
In the arms of the night, she discovers her peace,
The clouds become dancers, swirling and free,
A ballet of shadows, a tribute to she.

Up, up she soars, through the velvet expanse,
Where stars twinkle brightly, inviting her dance,
Among constellations, her heart starts to race,
For here in the heavens, she’s found her true place.

The wind sings her name, a soft serenade,
As she carves through the night, in a wild, joyous cascade,
Her wings, like the whispers of long-forgotten tales,
Carry her onward, where starlight prevails.

Each moment aloft, a timeless embrace,
In the embrace of the night, she finds her grace,
For among the celestial, she leaves her mark,
An echo of her roar, a glimmer in the dark.

So here she dances, in the cool evening air,
A creature of legend, majestic and rare,
With the moons as her witness, the stars as her guide,
The dragoness reigns in the vastness, with pride.

As the world below fades to shadows and dreams,
She twirls with the night, beneath silver beams,
In her heart, she knows, as she soars ever high,
That she is a daughter of the limitless sky.

THE FACE OF THE SKIES

Post type: Quote

Who shall loose Orion's bands?
"I!" saith Eternity.
"I with annulling hands
Shall set the Titan free."

Who shall erect upon the sky
New forms of might?
Saith Eternity: "I!
I shall re-people night.

"As a breath on glass,
As witch-fires that burn,
The gods and monsters pass,
Are dust, and return.

"Is the toil much to you
That is little to me?
Such dreams the gods knew,"
Saith Eternity.

Drink the Moon's Luck

Arethinn aTinderel 🌐
Post type: Text

The hoot of the owl we'll follow with care
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck
She'll lead us a goat-path no mortal should dare:
Come, off to the woodland to drink the moon's luck!
The tracks of Tod-Low'ry shall show us the way
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck
To glades which are hidden in harsh light of day:
Come, off to the woodland to drink the moon's luck!
We'll rade on the ridge at the top of the hill
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck
And humans shall find the wind suddenly chill:
Come, off to the woodland to drink the moon's luck!
Singing fey music from moonrise 'til dawn
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck
And as sudden we came, we'll sudden be gone:
Come, off to the woodland to drink the moon's luck!
We'll steal through the forest, which often at night
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck
Holds many a wonder for fairy delight:
Come, off to the woodland to drink the moon's luck!
The meadow-brook's waters to touch and to taste
Jack o' Green, Will o' Wisp, Robin and Puck,
With twilight upon us I bid ye make haste!
Come ye, o follow, to drink the moon's luck!
