i'm about a fourth of the way through "into the drowning deep" by mira grant, and i'm feeling a strong kinship to the mermaids in the story- to the point where i may need to consider if i potentially am or was a mer of some kind. i guess i've never quite read a book that tackled mers in a horror context prior to this, and it's really really resonating.
