We just switched over to PHP7 and MariaDB. I think folks will notice the site is loading in about half the time (on average) so that’s a good thing. We did have to sacrifice one plugin – the one that let folks report users/content for moderation. It was completely breaking the site. Nobody made it, actually – it’s automatically generated by the “MonsterID” library, and folks are free to replace it with any image they like (within reason). It’s mostly there to give us something more individualized as the default icon, in case folks don’t get around to uploading one of their own, so we can still tell them apart at a glance.

I gotta agree with them, though, that whoever actually designed the icons that go in that library, I mean, ugh. Changing the default icon was the very first thing I did too (and I think the first/only status update I’ve ever posted here is to say “AUGH WHAT IS THAT”, heh).

Sorry for being so slow on getting back to you on this. Had to think things over. In the end, I realized that it wasn’t a good fit for what I wanted either. It wasn’t WordPress, but it wasn’t really an improvement on WordPress either. Going to keep looking into other options, and take the feedback you’ve given me into consideration.

Yes, I didn’t set up a security certificate just for the beta test. Just used the blanket one for dreamhart.org which isn’t valid for the subdomain. You’ll have to manually accept the certificate to test it. Sorry about that.

Generally it looks fine, although I don’t see any real difference in look and feel compared to WordPress.
I think you’ll want to either change the size of the banner, or make the background behind it black or some kind of green, or something. The black rectangle in the middle of blue looks kind of odd.
