The Kinship System

Kinship is Otherkin.net’s way of recognising members who contribute meaningfully to the community. It is earned through sustained participation — not bought, gated, or granted by moderators. Anyone can earn any virtue in any order.

Your tier is simply the count of virtues you have earned. Two members at the same tier may have earned completely different sets of virtues.

    • Publish 3 posts
    • Leave 2 comments
  • Quality Fire

    “Your words resonate.”

    • Write 20 published posts
    • Receive 50 upvotes
    • Have 1 post featured
    • Earn 10 comments from the community on your posts
  • Stability Earth

    “You stayed. That matters more than you think.”

    • Be a member for 60 days
    • Post 5 times within 30 days
    • Leave 10 comments
  • Harmony Water

    “You disagreed well. That’s harder than it sounds.”

    • Maintain a 75% upvote ratio
    • Have no more than 1 moderation actions
    • If you’ve filed 5+ reports, keep at least 70% accuracy
  • Connection Wind

    “You reached out. The community reached back.”

    • Gain 10 followers
  • Presence Metal

    “You show up. You do the work.”

    • Organise or attend 5 events
  • Integrity Lightning

    “You did something the community won’t forget.”

    • Perform a significant act of kinship — recognised and awarded by admin

Kinship tiers

Each tier is reached by earning more virtues. Tiers are awarded automatically.

Tier 0 — Stardust

Tier 1 — Protostar
“A promise whispers in the void.” — 1 virtue earned
Tier 2 — Dawnstar
“The first light always breaks quietly.” — 2 virtues earned
Tier 3 — Daystar
“You’ve become part of the sky.” — 3 virtues earned
Tier 4 — Evenstar
“When shadows gather, your light holds true.” — 4 virtues earned
Tier 5 — Luminary
“Your light helps others find their way.” — 5 virtues earned
Tier 6 — Guidestar
“You’ve become a point of reference.” — 6 virtues earned
Tier 7 — Constellation
“Together, your lights tell a story.” — 7 virtues earned
