Some otherkin feel as though they were non-human in a past life, and that they were born human in this lifetime, but carry a spirit that has the feeling of being something else strongly suffused within itself.

These people usually feel their body is genuinely human, their parents and families are human, but they carry the memories and energy/feeling of being something else, and those things affect their ways of thinking and Being strongly enough in the here and now that they identify as that non-human entity.

There are also those who feel they've incarnated as a variety of different species in different lifetimes, but that one particular species stands out as being the closest to their core self - no matter what species of body they've incarnated into.
