I would say that it is very likely for curses to occur. Though usually we do not wish to curse people.

My mother, an elf who Awakened after me, caught herself accidentally cursing someone after it came to pass. Generally, it seems as if the cursing is related to emotions.

Emotions that cause it are generally intense anger. It is not anger like "you frustrated me", or "I got upset". It is generally like a rage that is involved in a hurt done to a loved one or what may push your particular button.

There are lighter curses. Such as observing what someone is doing and feeling upset. Although, they do not tend to cause a lasting harm. Sometimes, curses can occur for amusement. Though the ethics can be brought up for debate.

Another Elf was watching his fellow workers carrying too many dishes. He said that, "You should not carry so many. You may slip and fall. Then they will all break." The man said, "I do this all the time." Then a minute later the Elf heard a crashing sound and discovered the man had fallen. This carried on for hours that the human told him to stop jinxing him.

Still, if it is possible to curse then it is possible to bless. The most blessings I have noticed is wishes for someone to get well and they do. For the land to prosper and it will flourish. Usually it is healing, although by no means is it constrained to this!

In the end curses and blessings seem related to emotions. The curses and blessings seem to originate in the magic that many Otherkin are said to possess. They are triggered and directed by emotions at times. The more negative the emotion, the more negative the energy output. The more positive the emotion, the more positive the energy output. Although, there must be a way to blunt cursing, it is difficult during times of high emotions. Although this is relating to an Elven point of view that I have experienced and heard of!
