Physical Appearance: A Naga is a crossbreed between a human, a snake and/or a dragon. The upper torso was human-like and the lower body ended in a snake/dragon tail. Naga has been listed as a dragon type in some places with good reason, but I never associated myself with dragons when I thought of my Naga self. I was more related to snakes with distant dragon ancestry perhaps. I distinctly remember fangs on either side of my mouth that would slip into pockets in my lower jaw. I was venomous, but who says venom has to be harmful? I believe it had some medicinal qualities to members of our race and perhaps a few other races. My hands were tipped with formidable black claws. I believe my color (torso and tail) varied depending on the surroundings. I seem to remember a light greenish color and a faded sandy color. My torso consisted of skin and my tail was a pebbly, rough texture. No scales. Hair was usually worn long because we just didn't cut it. You would never see an overweight Naga at least that I know of. We were very lean and narrow. Almost whip-like in build. The torso tended to stay human in nature. Head shape and conformation of the torso would look reptilian in varying degrees from species to species. I know that my head and torso were elongated. The eyes were narrow and reptilian looking. The venomous attribute and, for some, tails hail from a snake ancestor.
Variations: I believe some Nagas had wings. This is probably another species of Naga that I was incarnated as at one point. Perhaps the wings were variable. These Naga lived atop cliffs and mesa's. I don't know much about them, unfortunately. I'm sure there are many variations on the Nagan form.
Diet: Despite our fearsome appearance our diet predominately consisted of fruits with an occasional infusion of fresh meat. Most of our liquids were gained from fruits, but water was also a part of our diet.
Habitat: My element was earth. The habitat was desert-like, but devoid of plant life. There may have been the occasional mesa or rock formation. The sky was usually overcast and gloomy, but a warm glow sometimes suffused the clouds above. The ground was sandy/rocky, but we rarely surfaced from our underground lairs. I remember dust storms that could clog your nostrils and leave your throat raw and dry. The plain would be spotted with the holes that were the entrances to the houses within the Naga clan. I do not believe the environment was always this barren, but somehow affected by a more technological alien/humanoid race that coexisted on the planet. I have described the environment as I remember it, though.
I do believe its possible we existed in a separate dimension as unique creations instead of a combination of other species, but I don't have any confirmation of this. I don't remember seeing any dragons where I lived though.
Culture: We had a spoken language. It was somewhat rough and guttural considering you had to speak around your tongue and teeth! Good comparisons might be German or Klingon. Our rough appearance might be a little misleading. Our general attitudes varied about as much as any Human's would. We all had our distinct personalities. We were very clannish and distrustful of strangers. We were disposed to violent tempers and hot heads, but it depended on the individual as to how they conducted themselves. I was generally good-humored, but if I got mad you better watch out! I was very protective of my family and our honor was of some import. I admit some of our less admirable traits were probably more common in my time due to the poor quality of life.
