I don't claim to know everything there is to know about Guardians, but I can tell you what we know about the ones in our particular experience. We are well aware that there are other Guardians out there doing lots of different things in different ways for different reasons, so please don't anyone get offended.

Guardians are incarnated spirits just like other Otherkin are, but we believe that we incarnate intentionally, with a distinct purpose or destiny that needs to be accomplished. At the time of our Awakening to what we are, we have to make a Choice regarding our alignment in relation to that destiny--the usual Light versus Dark decision, although we realize that both Light and Dark are necessary for universal balance. Awakening and Choice tend to be along the lines of a religious experience for us and can be very disturbing and confusing times.

Guardian spirits seem to be identified with a particular color, sometimes a color and a metal, which is visible in their auric field to those that can see it--the color(s), not the aura; we have theories about why everyone can't see our 'identification', but nothing concrete. So far we've seen red, red-gold, blue, silver-blue, blue-gold, silver-green, silver-white, silver-white-gold(technically that's a Platinum White, although the Guardian in question denies it vehemently), silver-black, violet, and rose-gold. We know there are bronzes, but none of us have ever seen one. We have only the vaguest ideas about what the colors mean, although we think it may have connections with the ray energy spectrum.

Over time we've come to the unfortunate conclusion that the only way to find out more about ourselves is to talk to other Guardians--luckily we tend to be drawn to each other, whether we're Awakened or not.
