PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash) -- Do you believe in elves? Well, there's a Philadelphia man who actually claims to be an elf.

29-year-old Tirl Windtree runs a community support website for "otherkin" -- people who think they are really some sort of creature that's not fully human.

Some otherkin believe they are vampires, dragons or elves -- and some even feel the presence of phantom wings and tails.

Although many otherkin are "in the closet" about their true identity, Windtree says a few live together in family homes where they can be open about their unusual identities.

He estimates there are a few hundred otherkin communicating with each other online, including his website, Otherkin.net.
