A question;
by Thene on 2004-02-28 19:10:19
If myth does indeed state that these beings used to mate with humans/have human-like children/whatever, why aren't they still doing it today? Why do none of the modern Otherkin claim that one of their parents is a genuine dragon/elf/whathaveyou?
This is a genuine questioning in your logic. I'm open to the idea of otherkin, but frankly I find the reincarnation idea a little more logical than anything gene-based. But please, if you do have a response to give me, give it. I'm not here to flame you, I'm really interested.

There are a few who do. They are very rare though.
The Dragon People

If you research the matter enough--read the ancient scripts themselves as well as study the human genome, you will find that all humans on Earth are descended from 'dragons'.
We are all hybrids--the result of the mingling of the seeds of what are mythologically called "Dragons" with what are mythologically called "Elves".
Look to Draco, the Serpent, the Moon and Venus for the Dragon.
The Lyre is broken, so you will only find the Elves among the Seven Sisters. The Red One has been shattered by war, so the Elves are few in our world today--but still exist in other regions.

Japanese Royal Line as Descended from Dragons/Long

All I can say is that you are on to something.
I know exactly of what 'dragons' those ancient texts speak.
You would be surprised just how accurate the claim of descent from 'dragons' is among royal lines the world over--but particularly in Japan and in Europe.
In fact, the two main groups of 'dragons' to exist in this world were founded in Indo-Europe and Japan, and continue to exist in some form today in those regions, and have spread out from those points to encompass many other areas.
